WOOT!
A blog... where I totally called that Kris Allen would win. Also, yes, I'm not 28 anymore. That's why the "something" is in the title.

Dude. Duke! Wash, Rinse, REPEAT.
Holy carp, my pasty-white velociraptor Kyle Singler is staying. STAYING. Given the current pro bball climate, it's not at all clear what the best choice was for him. But it is tooooootes clear what the best choice was for fans.

More On Duke.
- This is the single best recap of Duke's awesome National Championship that I've seen so far, courtesy of Sports Illustrated.
- This is the single worst recap that I've seen, courtesy of NBC. This article is filled with so much blind hate and disrespect. Dude. It actually made me angry to see, and I'm pretty tolerant of stupid people.
- In this world, Dewey also beat Truman.
- Kris Allen, I forgive you this time. Don't test me again.
- Ask my friends, I said that if Duke can break 60 -- the much vaunted statistic that was Butler's opposing score ceiling coming into the game -- the Butler spell would be broken. And it was. Kinda cool, that. (Also, I wore my Red Sox t-shirt and channeled the 2004 Sox during the entire game.)
- You didn't think I'd put another Duke bball post up and not include more praise for Scheyer, did you? Bitch, please.

Some More Dukeness.
Because I'm just absolutely Duke-d out right now, I'm gonna keep the good blog posts going:
-First, let me show you a good example of Scheyer Face.
-Second, inappropriate crushes on Scheyer aside, what the eff is he wearing on his left knee?
-Third, here's kind of a cool article about why the typical Duke-hate isn't really warranted this year. And here's another. I think this picture kinda sums up what they're getting at.
-Fourth, if you don't believe that at the end of the day, these players are just kids, take a gander at Andre Dawkins, who basically looks like the cutest 2 year old puppy. And as if that weren't enough, dude's still got braces. HUGGY BEARZ!
-Fifth, for good measure of ghosts of Duke past: JJ has a rap album. ROFLCOPTER.
Oh, and congrats Jordan Davidson, for somehow never graduating long enough to make a Final Four. I salute you.

FINAL FOUR BABY!!!

So this is what it's like to cheer for a college team! With all due respeck to my ugrad, whose women's hockey and men's squash are, indeed, dominant, I've never gotten a chance to just be stoopid for college sports. But oh baby! Leave it to my law school to get me to scarf down beer, blue margaritas, rice krispie treats, and brownies while simultaneously loving Scheyer Face beyond appropriate boundaries of reason and civility. Woot!
The best quote that I've found that sums up Duke's Elite Eight (heartstopping) victory against an unbelievable Baylor team--as well as it's potential hope for the Final Four--was in a little blog post on ESPN:
Singler was 0-for-10 from the field. And Duke won. Think about that.

Go Blue!

Duke is currently playing Florida State in the ACC tourney finals. This is the action shot on the front page of Yahoo! sports. Apparently, I was wrong, and the Velociraptors are playing the Goldfish.
What better time than now to celebrate some Scheyer Face? Yeah. Sweet.

Rough Sports Time.
Sigh.
- The Celtics's streak was again ended by the Lakers, and the Spurs beat them.
- The Sharks beat the Bruins.
- Duke got crushed by UNC tonight.
- Roger lost the Australian to Rafa.
- I never thought I'd say this: I think A-Rod is being unfairly targeted (although, I guess it is sort of a fruit of a poisonous tree type thing -- but still, having watched Bigger Stronger Faster*, I'm not so quick to judge -- wow I digress easily).
- Michael Phelps... oh wait, he's always been a douche.

Bar/Bri Day Pi: At Least It's Not the LSAT.
Yesterday, we had a day off from Bar/Bri. At first, I thought it was odd that a lecture series of videotapes would mandate a day off. But then, after doing absolutely nothing except 76 games of Expert Minesweeper, I really appreciated the day off. Today, I learned the real reason for the sojourn: Apparently yesterday was the June administration of the LSAT.
Terrible, horrible memories of lost weekends, lost summers, and too much caffeine at coffee shops flooded my mind, as I smirked at how glad I am that I don't have to worry obsessively about some arcane test that will determine whether I can even do the career that I want to do, and wondering how law can be tested in a multiple-choice format. I mean, really, thank God that's over.
P.S. Can Boston sportswriters stop being so cocky about this championship that we haven't won yet? At least some people are finally coming 'round to the fact that, oh, you know, Boston just happened to be the last city to make history to come back from both a 3-0 and 3-1 deficit in sports playoffs, even though that never happens. Please stop messing with the karma faeries.
